Pop-up boutique aims to provide affordable clothing to families in need at The Hope Center in NT

Lumber City Church is inviting local families to a unique and personal shopping experience at The Hope Center. Their goal is to serve families living below the poverty line who struggle to attain adequate clothing and apparel for themselves and their children. They will be given an opportunity to shop in a dignified way from hundreds of brand-new and never used items at prices one can afford.

Former Pekin Fire Co. President Lawrence Amacher Jr. was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly stealing $1,800 from the company's bell jar collection for his personal use, and falsifying records to hide his theft, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. 
NCCC announces presidential search finalists

To open the meeting, Dana Weber asked the Town Board what it knew regarding an article in the Tribune of Barge Brewing talking about a Bergholz location. As a resident of the hamlet of Bergholz, she was curious about the possible location.
National Grid approves grant to support City of Tonawanda streetscape improvements

National Grid has approved an economic development grant for The City of North Tonawanda, which is undertaking a major eco-friendly construction project to upgrade and beautify a streetscape that will provide pedestrian amenities along Northern Main Street.
Sirianni seeks re-election in Town of Niagara

Accardo announces county legislature bid

The legislative district includes the Town of Niagara, as well as the DeVeaux section of Niagara Falls, and portions of Hyde Park.
NASA's Bowman presents at NAM

At the Niagara Aerospace Museum last Wednesday, Alice Bowman, was welcomed on behalf of the Town of Wheatfield by Town Historian and NAM member Justin Higner. Bowman is from NASA and is head of the engineering and mission operations of the New Horizons mission.

Schmigel announces bid for NT alderman spot

On Tuesday afternoon, Robert Schmigel announced his candidacy to seek the open seat in the first ward for the North Tonawanda Common Council. Current Alderman Mark Berube has decided not to seek re-election after winning the seat vacated by the late Russ Rizzo.

On Sunday and parts of Monday, Western New York got hit with yet another storm this winter. No snow or ice to mention, but winds blew through the area at steady speeds in the 40 mile-per-hour range, with gusts up above 70 mph. The Tribune's local municipalities - the Town of Wheatfield, Town of Niagara and City of North Tonawanda - all endured the wind's wrath and had to deal with some damage.

Lee S. Wallace has announced he will seek re-election for the office of supervisor in the Town of Niagara. Wallace, the incumbent town supervisor, is a lifetime resident of the town and a previous town employee for more than 40 years.

Tuesday night, in what Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace called record time, the Town Board held its regular meeting for the month of February. The board declared a negative declaration, which shows no harm to the environment, in accordance with the State Environmental Quality Review on part of a site plan from Mercado Development in regard to outdoor seating at a new food hall at the Fashion Outlets Mall.
