The Niagara County Department of Employment & Training will host a "pop-up" job fair on Monday, June 12, at the Civil Defense Building in Lockport. This will coincide with the official opening of the new Lockport office of employment and training.

"Music Mania Mondays" is returning to Niagara County on June 26. It's looking to be a packed event with cover bands from all over the country set to perform at Veteran's Memorial Park at 7000 Lockport Road, Town of Niagara.

Seven new merchants are opening their doors at Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA, including four locally owned stores, two family attractions, and a food court restaurant. In addition, Elegant Fashion, a store that has been with the Fashion Outlets for many years, has relocated near Entrance 7. All merchants are expected to open prior to July. Each is located within the indoor portion of the center.

The New York National Guard's Task Force Wolfhound completed its mission providing security at U.S. installations in the Horn of Africa on Saturday, June 3. The 1,130 soldiers of the task force had been providing security at locations in Djibouti, Somalia and Kenya since Sept. 19, 2022.

Niagara County Public Works Commissioner Garret Meal today announced the Legislature has approved the creation of a truck driver/CDL trainer and four new truck driver trainee positions in an effort to address the shortage of workers with commercial driver's licenses (CDL) across the county. A CDL is required to drive snowplows and heavy highway equipment used for roadwork and maintenance.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the westbound Niagara Scenic Parkway will be closed in the City of Niagara Falls from the LaSalle Expressway to Buffalo Avenue on Tuesday, May 9, to facilitate paving. The closure will be in place from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists traveling westbound should follow the posted detour.
