Sponsors of "Music Mania Mondays," including Niagara Frontier Publications Publisher and CEO Skip Mazenauer, received gifts of appreciation from Town Board members. Also recognized were coaches from the town's recreation department for their commitment to youth in the town.

The Wheatfield Town Board accepted a bid from New York State Fence for the installation of a fence around the former Niagara Sanitation Landfill on Nash Road. The landfill previously accepted waste from various chemical companies.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on Tuesday announced that results of recent soil sampling conducted at properties adjacent to the former Niagara Sanitation Landfill in the Town of Wheatfield confirm no contamination from the landfill is impacting surface soils on nearby properties.

After hearing from a roomful of residents who were either for or against the installation of a sidewalk on Krueger Road - where teenager Ryan Fisher was hit by a vehicle while walking along the road in 2014, and ultimately died - the Town of Wheatfield Town Board opted to go in another direction.
