On Monday, the Town of Wheatfield Town Board met for their regular monthly meeting of August. The board heard from two residents to begin the meeting about a recent lawsuit loss the town suffered in regards to the use of biosolids on agricultural land.

U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. announced Monday that Glen Stacharczyck, 53, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to RICO conspiracy, before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

For 2018 Canal Fest there will be a new opportunity to save on Canal Fest ride prices. Pay-one-price wristband bracelets will be available every day the rides are open: Monday, July 16 - Sunday, July 22. Bracelets are $25 each on the midway. They are good on all rides on the day of purchase. The speed ride may require an additional ticket or two.
