NCSO: Industrial accident in Wheatfield

On Wednesday, just before 2 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a hazardous material incident at the Avantor building in the Town of Wheatfield. The caller reported a spill of approximately 400 gallons of methanol contained inside the building.

CCE Niagara will offer free admission to the Niagara County Fair on Sunday, Aug. 7, to any current member of the military, or veteran, as part of the "Thank A Vet" program. First responders will also be admitted to the fair for free that day.

Completion of $3.5 million supportive housing development in North Tonawanda

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the completion of a $3.5 million supportive housing project in downtown North Tonawanda. Supported through the Homeless Housing and Assistance Program, the adaptive reuse of the structure, at 49 Tremont St., created 12 units of affordable housing, including eight studio apartments with on-site supportive services to help women who have experienced homelessness and are survivors of domestic violence.
