Lew-Port budget passes, three elected to BOE

Residents living in the Lewiston-Porter School District voted in favor of a $41.7 million budget by an 875 to 301 vote Tuesday. The budget represents an increase of just $446,601, or 1.18 percent, over last year.

Village of Lewiston taxes going up 12 cents, but it could be worse

The Village of Lewiston is raising the tax rate from $7.26 per $1,000 of assessed valuation to $7.38 for the next fiscal year. The 1.68 percent bump, a 12-cent increase, means a land owner with a property valued at $100,000, for example, will see a tax increase of $12 for fiscal year 2015-16.
