The third annual Great Contraption Race, held Saturday to benefit the It Happened to Alexa Foundation, may have been smaller in the number of entries this year, but the enthusiasm of its participants and the creativity of the contraptions more than made up for it.

The Rev. Msgr. Anthony Caligiuri, 92, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016. "Monsignor" was pastor at St. Peter R.C. Church in Lewiston from 1977 until his retirement in December 1999. He was designated pastor emeritus.
