White lights give holiday cheer

On Wednesday, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce teamed with local volunteers to repurpose the white lights. The glowing bulbs are now artfully strung across the International Peace Garden, nestled in between the historic Frontier House and the Lewiston Council on the Arts.

The Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees on Monday approved Ellicott Development's site plan, a proposal to build a 4.1-acre, multimillion-dollar mixed-use plaza on the corner of Center, North Eighth and Onondaga streets. Trustee Dan Gibson was the lone dissenting vote.

From noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, Sacarissa Bell Rose Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), will collect items for the needy at the Lewiston Christmas Walk. Members seek new or gently used hats, scarves, gloves, mittens and socks. Cans of soup with pull tops will also gratefully be accepted.
