When the BPO's new season begins Sept. 17, there will be several new faces onstage. The BPO has recently hired a principal oboe, a second oboe and a section French horn. Each was chosen through an international audition process.

Grammy-winning Switchfoot's "Live It Well" has topped the hot AC chart at Christian radio. The hit comes from the Grammy winners' 10th studio album, "Where The Light Shines Through" (Vanguard Records, Capitol Christian Music Group), which debuted at No. 1 on the Christian albums chart, No. 3 on the rock, alternative and overall digital albums charts, and No. 10 on the Billboard 200.

The Historic Riviera Theatre is saddened to hear of the passing of movie icon Gene Wilder. To pay tribute to Wilder, the Historic Riviera Theatre will feature "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" (1971) at 5 p.m. and "Blazing Saddles" (1974) at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, on the venue's silver screen.
