Wegmans customers donate more than $423,500 to alleviate food insecurity through 'Check Out Hunger' campaign

Western New York's generosity was on full display through Wegmans' recent successful "Check Out Hunger" campaign for FeedMore WNY. Through the support of Wegmans and its customers, more than $423,500 was raised to support FeedMore WNY's mission of offering dignity, hope and brighter futures by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to community members experiencing food insecurity.

Wojtaszek to one count of manslaughter in the first degree (class "B" violent felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest count in the indictment against him.

The western shore of New York state from Buffalo to the Pennsylvania border is impacted by seiche (pronounced saysh) events. Seiches are the result of wind blowing a sizeable standing wave across Lake Erie and onto the shoreline, causing flooding, rapid and intense erosion, deposition of sand and debris, potential hazardous conditions, such as rip currents, and risk to life.
