Congressman Brian Higgins announced a federal grant totaling $600,000 awarded to the International Institute of Buffalo (IIB). Funded by the U.S. Department of Justice and awarded through the Office for Victims of Crime's (OVC) Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Human Trafficking program, this grant supports specialized housing and employment services for survivors of human trafficking.

In celebration of the holidays and to show appreciation to many of Niagara Falls' finest for all they do to keep the community safe - especially during the pandemic - AT&T purchased lunch for 100 police officers and other first responders working out of Niagara Falls Police Department's headquarters on Wednesday. AT&T hired Niagara County's own Dirty Bird Chicken N' Waffles food truck to provide the meals in front of the police department.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced the passage of H.R. 1667, the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act. Empire State Development on Friday announced the beginning of stabilization work on the roof and foundation of the Michigan Street Baptist Church.
