SBA announces $44.8 billion through signature lending programs

Arts Services Inc. and the Buffalo Jewish Federation have announced the inaugural recipients of the "Made in Buffalo - Cheryl Stern Performing Artist Fund," named for Buffalo native Cheryl Stern. The Niagara County Department of Public Works is alerting residents it will begin surveying Ewings Road, from Jacques Road to Route 78, beginning this week. This work, being conducted by Popli Design Group (PDG), will assist in-house engineers to design and prepare bid documents to resurface this road in the near future.

The Center for Elder Law & Justice has been awarded funding through the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women to provide enhanced training and services to end abuse in later life in Niagara County. The agency will partner with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the district attorney of Niagara County, and Pinnacle Community Services to provide training programs to law enforcement, prosecutors, units of local government, victim service providers, and other organizations in recognizing and addressing instances of elder abuse.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced approval of the State Opioid Response Grant Authorization Act of 2021 (H.R. 2379). The bipartisan legislation provides $1.75 billion each year from 2022 through 2027 to help states and tribes prevent and reduce substance abuse. The annual allocation represents an increase over the $1.5 billion provided for 2021.
