Flynn announced a 17-year-old male from Buffalo was arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case, a designated Youth Part judge, on one count of attempted murder in the second degree, and one count of assault in the first degree (class "B" violent felonies).

The Niagara Falls Fire Department responded to two fires over the weekend. On Friday, a call at 9:32 p.m. reporting a structure fire, at 764 16th St., resulted in firefighters finding a two-story wood structure fully engulfed in flames. Upon extinguishing the fire, crews entered the building and found it was clear. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Buffalo Museum of Science opened the doors to "Antarctic Dinosaurs: The Exhibition," presented by M&T Bank, to a sold-out first weekend. The touring exhibit from the Field Museum in Chicago allows Western New York visitors to touch real fossils from Antarctica, see full-sized dinosaur replicas and learn about scientific expeditions that led to these discoveries.

The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program to support Western New York high school seniors aspiring to careers in the foodservice and hospitality industries. This year's program will award four recipients with a $500 scholarship to be applied toward non-tuition expenses, such as room, board, books and fees. At least one scholarship will be awarded to a student in the City of Buffalo.
