Economic development awards support more than 2,300 jobs, $671 million in capital investments

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the New York Power Authority board of trustees approved economic development awards to 17 companies that will support more than 2,300 jobs - nearly 1,600 newly created - and spur more than $671 million in capital investments.
$21 million in funding for nation's first assertive community treatment teams dedicated to children & their families

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced $21 million in funding awards for 15 Youth Assertive Community Treatment teams. New York is the first state in the nation to enact such teams, which serve children ages 10 to 21, and their families, providing services and support in the home and community settings.

"Project Power" is the initiative of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) with the aim to slow the trajectory of childhood obesity through health promotion, nutrition education, increased physical activity, and family involvement for elementary school-aged youth to help prevent obesity, type 2 diabetes, and the complications of diabetes. Niagara County announces façade grant program for businesses

The Niagara County Center for Economic Development announced the launch of the new Niagara County Façade Program (NCFP). The NCFP will provide matching grants up to $50,000 for eligible businesses in order to rejuvenate their properties to help bring vibrancy to the central business districts in communities across the county. The county has allocated $3 million for the program through the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Catholic Health secures $58.5m in bond financing to fund new Lockport Memorial Hospital

Catholic Health announced Tuesday it has secured orders from several investors for $58.5 million in bonds to fund construction of its Lockport Memorial Hospital. In addition to the new hospital, which will become a campus of Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara County, the bond financing will support cardiac catheterization room renovations at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, and other small infrastructure projects across the system.

$232 million in additional food assistance for New Yorkers in March

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced all New Yorkers enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for March. All households participating in SNAP - including those already at the maximum level of benefits -will receive a supplemental allotment this month, which will result in New York state's economy receiving roughly $232 million in federal funding.
