More than 80 million over-the-counter COVID-19 tests distributed to New Yorkers

Kathy Hochul announced more than 80 million COVID-19 over-the-counter tests have been distributed to date by New York state as part of the administration's ongoing efforts to keep New Yorkers protected throughout the pandemic. At-home rapid tests are being provided regularly to schools and nursing homes in the state.

At the direction of Mayor Byron Brown, the dome of Buffalo City Hall will remain lit in orange through Sunday, May 29, in memory of the victims of the tragic May 14 mass shooting at the Tops Market on Jefferson Avenue. The orange lighting is also in memory of the 19 children and two teachers lost in the May 24 shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

'High' COVID-19 community level prompts additional safety recommendations from Erie County Department of Health

On Thursday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Erie County meets the indicators for a "high" coronavirus level. This level is based on the number of new daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents over seven days, new COVID-19 admissions per 100,000 population (seven-day total), and percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients (seven-day average).
Nearly $2 million in COVID relief for Roswell Park
