Compassion in action: Community Missions hosts 'Walk for Niagara'

Community Missions of Niagara Frontier is hosting its annual "Walk for Niagara" fundraiser from Whirlpool State Park to Devils Hole State Park in Niagara Falls on Saturday, May 4, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Home Assistance Referral Team's annual "Rockin' with HART" fundraiser was staged Saturday at the Lewiston Event Center on Cayuga Street. The event included a basket raffle, a 50/50 split and a batch of celebrity bartenders vying for tips for HART.

Shows like "RuPaul's Drag Race" have played a pivotal role in the increased spread of representation in media.

Ashley Fox took the opportunity to study abroad in her senior year and final semester at Niagara University. She studied from January to May 2018, moving from Paris to Rome then to Ireland in the span of 4 months, with 6 weeks in each location.

The event helps to raise awareness and funds for the nonprofit organization's crisis and community service programs that provide clothing, food, shelter and other services to those in need.
