It's that time of year at Niagara University. A time that is most important for the beloved senior class. With hundreds of varieties in majors and minors, the class of 2013 is ready to walk on stage and receive their diploma. With a little over 4,000 students at Niagara and about 1,000 seniors, there are endless possibilities for what each person could contribute to the future.

D'Avolio Olive Oils and Vinegars is becoming Western New York's newest local treasure. After visiting the Lewiston location for taste testing of the oils and vinegars, I decided to try the newest addition to the D'Avolio's stores at the kitchen in Williamsville.

When it was announced that the Rev. Joseph Levesque C.M., president of Niagara University, would be stepping down, many reacted with sadness and took a look back on Levesque's time at Niagara. When talking about Niagara, Levesque himself reflects fondly on all of his years at the university. He makes it clear that although he is resigning as president, this is in no way the end of his time at Niagara or his commitment to the school.

Dr. Abdiweli Ali, the Niagara University economics professor turned Somali prime minster, will reflect on his time as the leader of the impoverished, war-torn East African nation during a special event on April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Castellani Art Museum.

Niagara University proudly presents "The Learned Ladies" by Moliere. This family friendly comedy was originally written in French and first premiered in 1672. This current adaptation was translated to English by Freyda Thomas and performed on a Broadway stage in the early 1990s.

Despite the many bad reviews of the movie "Identity Thief," I decided to go see it because I know how funny Melissa McCarthy is. Although the storyline was not the best, I appreciate what this movie and Melisa McCarthy are doing for the comedy genre.

It's normal for college students to have a budget all the time. However, some students would like to see a movie here and now; but why spend $10 for a night out plus the cost of popcorn and drinks which can be pretty costly.

I recently dined at Lewiston's Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. There was a three-page menu with a wide range of entrees to select from. Everyone in our party seemed to be pleased with the variety of food options. Not only were there many options, but everything ordered was delicious and worth every penny.

NU students, have you ever sat in your dorm rooms and said to yourselves, "I am just so bored"? There are very easy ways that you can make your boredom subside and increase your fun intake. There are events that are hosted by the CPB or Campus Programming Board. The events are designed to get students active on the NU campus and to get to know each other with fun-filled activities.

From Feb. 22 through 24, the Niagara University Players will present an entirely student-run production of "Time Stands Still" by Donald Margulies in the Leary Theatre within the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre, Clet Hall.
Directed by NU Theater Junior Nathan Andrew Miller, "Time Stands Still" is a funny, passionate, thought-provoking and heartbreaking piece of work. It is a look at war through the lens of a young couple brought together by the conflict in Iraq only to have their relationship challenged by it (the show contains adult subject matter).
