This year marks 50 years of entertaining for Cher. Buffalo was lucky enough to make the list of cities as she embarked on her final farewell tour. The six months of anticipation since tickets went on sale was finally released Wednesday night, April 23, as Cher took to the stage at the First Niagara Center.

It's finally here: The last few days till graduation (18 days to be exact).
During the four years I've spent in college, I am finally down to the last days of it. It's bitter sweet. Everything I've worked for is finally paying off. In 18 short days, I will be a college graduate.

Although the past few weeks have not felt much like spring, no matter what weather Mother Nature brings, ice cream seems to be a telling sign that spring is in the air. De-Dee's Dairy is now open for the season and the local community could not be happier to have the ice cream shop back in their lives.

The CBS popular romantic comedy "How I Met Your Mother" came to end this past Monday. The program aired its final episode, "Last Forever," with 12.9 million viewers. Since 2005, "How I Met Your Mother" has been a lock on CBS's programming. Over the years, the show earned 28 Emmy nominations (winning nine of them).

It has been an exciting couple of years for Cher fans. In 2012 Cher confirmed a new album was in the making, later in the year she surprised Twitter followers with confirmation of an upcoming tour. Now March of 2014, fans are finally getting what they have been waiting for.

With just two weeks left in the NBA season, the Knicks find themselves in a tight race for the last spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. So far, the Knicks trail the Atlanta Hawks by one game. Even with the disappointing season that no one saw coming, the Knicks still have the opportunity to save their season with a playoff berth.
Now the task won't be easy, the Knicks final six games are all against playoff teams in the Eastern Conference, whereas the Atlanta Hawks only face five playoff teams in their final 10 games. It seems as if the Knicks have an uphill battle being that they not only trail the Hawks by two games in the loss column, but the Hawks also own the tie breaker.

It's been a long winter as we're almost halfway through the month of March and plenty of snow still covers the ground. Most students at Niagara University are visibly tired of the wintry weather. With spring just around the corner it's time to enjoy parts of the Niagara Falls and Lewiston area that aren't as accessible or enjoyable in the winter months.

As a fund raiser for the Ulman Cancer Fund, 30 students will be taking part in a 4,000 mile run across the country over a 42 day span starting in June. Local Niagara University student Leanne Stuck is one of the 30 embarking on this journey.

However, as soon as you swing open the door you are lead into a space painted the brightest hue of red illuminated by dimmed overhead lighting and tea candles adorning every table as well as spaciously placed along the sweeping bar.

The 1990s are coming back, full swing this year. Our favorite nineties shows will bring us back to the times of oversized sweaters, side ponytails and our favorite TV star crushes. "Full House" and "Seinfeld" will return to television this year. The beloved Matthews family of "Boy Meets World" will also be returning in a sequel "Girl Meets World".

With a little over 4,000 students at Niagara and about 1,000 seniors, there are endless possibilities for what each person could contribute to the future.

When it was announced that the Rev. Joseph Levesque C.M., president of Niagara University, would be stepping down, many reacted with sadness and took a look back on Levesque's time at Niagara. When talking about Niagara, Levesque himself reflects fondly on all of his years at the university. He makes it clear that although he is resigning as president, this is in no way the end of his time at Niagara or his commitment to the school.

Niagara University proudly presents "The Learned Ladies" by Moliere. This family friendly comedy was originally written in French and first premiered in 1672. This current adaptation was translated to English by Freyda Thomas and performed on a Broadway stage in the early 1990s.

Despite the many bad reviews of the movie "Identity Thief," I decided to go see it because I know how funny Melissa McCarthy is. Although the storyline was not the best, I appreciate what this movie and Melisa McCarthy are doing for the comedy genre.

I recently dined at Lewiston's Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. There was a three-page menu with a wide range of entrees to select from. Everyone in our party seemed to be pleased with the variety of food options. Not only were there many options, but everything ordered was delicious and worth every penny.

From Feb. 22 through 24, the Niagara University Players will present an entirely student-run production of "Time Stands Still" by Donald Margulies in the Leary Theatre within the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre, Clet Hall.
Directed by NU Theater Junior Nathan Andrew Miller, "Time Stands Still" is a funny, passionate, thought-provoking and heartbreaking piece of work. It is a look at war through the lens of a young couple brought together by the conflict in Iraq only to have their relationship challenged by it (the show contains adult subject matter).
