With thousands of print articles, television and radio broadcasts produced on a daily basis, the news is everywhere we look. With evolving technology and media, there are multiple ways to consume news through newspapers, magazines, websites and television shows.

From local to national media, stories are designed to shape our public knowledge and perception of our community and the world around us. For Niagara University students, that objective has become more difficult as news stories have become more entertaining and less educational in recent years.

"I feel like they do provide information right away, but some of it is fabricated and dramatized in order to make it interesting to keep readers wanting more," said sophomore Katie Mayes.

Get your web-shooters ready: The sequel to the successful reboot of the Spider-Man trilogy "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is set to hit theaters Friday, May 2.

The original "Spider-Man" movie, which was released May 3, 2002, and directed by Sam Raimi, grossed $403,706,375. Its reboot, "The Amazing Spider-Man," which is directed by Marc Webb and opened July 3, 2012, grossed only $262,030,663.

Since 2005, "How I Met Your Mother" has been a lock on CBS's programming. Over the years, the show earned 28 Emmy nominations (winning nine of them).

With just two weeks left in the NBA season, the Knicks find themselves in a tight race for the last spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. So far, the Knicks trail the Atlanta Hawks by one game. Even with the disappointing season that no one saw coming, the Knicks still have the opportunity to save their season with a playoff berth.

Now the task won't be easy, the Knicks final six games are all against playoff teams in the Eastern Conference, whereas the Atlanta Hawks only face five playoff teams in their final 10 games. It seems as if the Knicks have an uphill battle being that they not only trail the Hawks by two games in the loss column, but the Hawks also own the tie breaker.

Students, alumni and friends of Niagara University accumulated nearly $300 and more than 840 pounds of food and nonperishable goods on Dec. 3, the 2013 edition of #GivingTuesday.
