The City of Niagara Falls will soon be home to a $6 million sports and educational facility, which will offer a number of programs and services for members of the community. Once built, The Niagara Community Center (run as a nonprofit organization) will be located next to Niagara Catholic Junior-Senior High School at 520 66th St.

When walking into Blum's Swimwear and Intimate Apparel, one is immediately taken aback at the size and expansive selection. At the front entrance, your eyes are met by the biggest selection of swimsuits you have probably ever seen, and at the back entrance the selection of intimate apparel makes your average department store or big name store's selection pale in comparison.

It all started with a simple idea by Niagara student Jordan Hernandez. Why couldn't Niagara University have an "SNL"-esque sketch comedy show by students, for students? That was how "Tuesday Night Live" was born. "Tuesday Night Live," or "TNL," is the newest standard for student entertainment at NU, and it only seems to be growing.

It is a rarity when a musical artist and venue have the perfect chemistry to mesh together. When it does happen, it is a magical thing. Upstate New York is lucky enough to have one such artist-venue combination, which perennially excites thousands.

Located in Western New York, the Flower City, or Rochester as it's properly called, is an area drawing in more and more residents. Some are coming from neighboring cities, others from nearby states and even more are students that attend the Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Rochester and any of the other area colleges who fall in love with the area and just can't leave.

With thousands of print articles, television and radio broadcasts produced on a daily basis, the news is everywhere we look. With evolving technology and media, there are multiple ways to consume news through newspapers, magazines, websites and television shows.
From local to national media, stories are designed to shape our public knowledge and perception of our community and the world around us. For Niagara University students, that objective has become more difficult as news stories have become more entertaining and less educational in recent years.
"I feel like they do provide information right away, but some of it is fabricated and dramatized in order to make it interesting to keep readers wanting more," said sophomore Katie Mayes.

With the Stanley Cup Finals slowly approaching, the fan base here in Buffalo is yet again disappointed its hometown team is not participating. The Sabres had a very rough season this year, finishing with a record of 21-51-10.

Get your web-shooters ready: The sequel to the successful reboot of the Spider-Man trilogy "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is set to hit theaters Friday, May 2.
The original "Spider-Man" movie, which was released May 3, 2002, and directed by Sam Raimi, grossed $403,706,375. Its reboot, "The Amazing Spider-Man," which is directed by Marc Webb and opened July 3, 2012, grossed only $262,030,663.

This year marks 50 years of entertaining for Cher. Buffalo was lucky enough to make the list of cities as she embarked on her final farewell tour. The six months of anticipation since tickets went on sale was finally released Wednesday night, April 23, as Cher took to the stage at the First Niagara Center.

During the four years I've spent in college, I am finally down to the last days of it. It's bitter sweet. Everything I've worked for is finally paying off. In 18 short days, I will be a college graduate.

De-Dee's Dairy is now open for the season and the local community could not be happier to have the ice cream shop back in their lives.

The CBS popular romantic comedy "How I Met Your Mother" came to end this past Monday. The program aired its final episode, "Last Forever," with 12.9 million viewers. Since 2005, "How I Met Your Mother" has been a lock on CBS's programming. Over the years, the show earned 28 Emmy nominations (winning nine of them).

With just two weeks left in the NBA season, the Knicks find themselves in a tight race for the last spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. So far, the Knicks trail the Atlanta Hawks by one game. Even with the disappointing season that no one saw coming, the Knicks still have the opportunity to save their season with a playoff berth.
Now the task won't be easy, the Knicks final six games are all against playoff teams in the Eastern Conference, whereas the Atlanta Hawks only face five playoff teams in their final 10 games. It seems as if the Knicks have an uphill battle being that they not only trail the Hawks by two games in the loss column, but the Hawks also own the tie breaker.

With the 2013-2014 season coming to an end soon, developments for next fall's pilot season have already begun. One trend to watch is that more pilots led by black actors are in the works this season. When television first became popular and up until recent years, it was rare to see a minority face as a lead actor for prime time show. With ABC's "Scandal" breaking barriers by having the first black actress nominated for an Emmy since 1995, we are starting to see a shift in what our weekly television shows look like.

It's been a long winter as we're almost halfway through the month of March and plenty of snow still covers the ground. Most students at Niagara University are visibly tired of the wintry weather. With spring just around the corner it's time to enjoy parts of the Niagara Falls and Lewiston area that aren't as accessible or enjoyable in the winter months.

As a fund raiser for the Ulman Cancer Fund, 30 students will be taking part in a 4,000 mile run across the country over a 42 day span starting in June. Local Niagara University student Leanne Stuck is one of the 30 embarking on this journey.

There isn't much to look at walking up to the unassuming Trattoria Aroma on Bryant Street right off of Elmwood. However, as soon as you swing open the door you are lead into a space painted the brightest hue of red illuminated by dimmed overhead lighting and tea candles adorning every table as well as spaciously placed along the sweeping bar.
