Today, Niagara-Wheatfield High School graduated its Class of 2019 at Artpark in Lewiston. Below is a list of this year's senior class.

2018-19 was indeed a dominant school year for Niagara-Wheatfield athletics. On Wednesday, at the Niagara Frontier League end of the year banquet, the program added to its impressive resume by winning the Niagara Frontier League "President's Cup" Supremacy Award.

The Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons softball team has been in its fair share of offensive battles. On Tuesday, in the Section VI Class A1 semifinals, the Falcons got it done on the defensive side of the ball, as N-W defeated Hamburg, 1-0.
Peltier's no hitter guides Falcons to strong regular season finish

After heavy rains suspended the contest in the first inning last Wednesday, the two teams continued the battle on Saturday, with N-W coming out as the victors, 9-0.  Despite a stellar offensive showing from the Falcons, it was all about Tommy Peltier on the mound. The senior hurled a no hitter while striking out 13 Lions.
Falcons get revenge win on senior day

The last time the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons softball team played Kenmore West, the team witness the Blue Devils celebrate on their own field after an impressive comeback victory. Friday night, the Falcons were seeking revenge and got it, as N-W defeated Ken-West, 8-4.
Niagara-Wheatfield outduels Lewiston-Porter in extra innings

One extra inning thriller just wasn't enough for the Niagara-Wheatfield and Lewiston-Porter softball teams. Saturday afternoon, on the turf of Kenmore West High School, the two Niagara Frontier League squads dueled in a second extra inning affair, with the Falcons defeating the Lancers, 6-3, in eight innings.

Thousands of volunteers participated Saturday in the eighth annual "I Love My Park Day," helping with community cleanup, beautification and stewardship events at more than 140 state parks, historic sites and public lands across New York. An estimated 8,000 volunteers participated in 250 park and trail projects, including planting trees and gardens, clearing debris, restoring trails and wildlife habitats, cleaning shorelines and beachfronts and more.

Spring sports in Western New York are played in some of the most brutal weather conditions. Tuesday, the offenses looked past the bitter cold, as the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons defeated the North Tonawanda Lumberjacks in eight innings, 12-7.
Falcons baseball expecting big season

Last spring, the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons baseball team strolled into the Section VI Class AA final winners of nine consecutive games before their fall versus Williamsville North, 3-2.  During the streak, the bats and pitching arms of the Falcons were as hot as could be.  For the 2019 season, the team will return a bulk of the talent that led them on the streak. 
Beilein introduced as Niagara University men's basketball coach

On Tuesday, one of Western New York's own teams dove into the Beilein family tree. Niagara University introduced Patrick Beilein, son of John, as its 22nd men's basketball coach in program history.
Falcons softball bringing talent, experience to table in '19

Last spring, the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons softball team was close to winning its first Section VI title since 2011. The team fell short versus Lancaster but, for the 2019 spring season, the Falcons return a majority of the 2018 roster that guided the team to the finals.

Friday evening, that was not the case, as the Wolverines were defeated by West Genesee in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association semifinals, 59-57.

Niagara Falls Wolverines boys basketball head coach Sal Constantino has coached the historic program for nine years. One place he has not been in that time is the New York state finals tournament. Saturday night, after a Far West Regional game against Section V's McQuaid, Constantino can begin booking his first trip to the final four.

Saturday afternoon, there were times where it looked like the goliath Niagara Falls High School basketball team would fall to the Williamsville North Spartans in the Section VI Class AA title game. Vying for a fourth-straight title and 13th since 2000, the Wolverines received the boost they needed from a freshman: Willie Lightfoot.

Everything was looking grand for the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons boys basketball team. Last Saturday, the team upset rival North Tonawanda, clinching a berth to play in the semifinals at Buffalo State for the first time in 14 years. The team rode an emotional high heading into the Section VI Class A1 semifinal matchup versus Williamsville East Thursday night, but the Flames knocked the Falcons back down to earth, as N-W was defeated, 66-43.

It's been 14 years since the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons boys basketball team has reached Buffalo State to play in the Section VI semifinals. On Saturday, the team punched its ticket to return to the venue, as the No. 6 Falcons defeated No. 3 North Tonawanda, 58-49, in the Class A1 quarterfinals.

Coming into the postseason, many questioned how far the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons hockey team could go. After a regular season record of 10-10, the Falcons didn't let the number put any dampers on a run to the Section VI large school championship. Tuesday night, the Falcons strived forward and defeated No. 1 Lancaster, 4-1, in the Section VI large school semifinal.
Lew-Port wins NFL boys b-ball title

It's been 34 years since the Lewiston-Porter Lancers boys basketball team last hoisted a Niagara Frontier League title. Thursday night, the Lancers reset that number back down to zero, as the team defeated Niagara Falls, 75-71, to win the 2018-19 Niagara Frontier League title.
