Lindsey Bradigan, a nursing attendant, was presented with a $1,000 scholarship by the St. Francis Guild to advance her education in nursing. The presentation was part of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center's celebration of national Nurses' Week.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced an additional $55 million in funding for five innovative economic development projects as part of the third round of the competitive NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program. One of those projects belonged to Erie Community College, which secured $5.75 million in grant funding for its planned Bretschger Building renovation/AAS nanotechnology degree program at college's North Campus in Williamsville.
"On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of ECC, I'd like to thank Gov. Cuomo, Chancellor Zimpher and leaders of the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program," said ECC President Jack Quinn.

Brian Higgins, who announced the grant at UB's South Campus.

Stella Niagara Education Park sixth grade students Lucy Ebbole and Ella Colbus entered their science fair projects in the Niagara County Fair held July 30 through Aug. 3. They both received blue ribbons for their projects and were recommended for the New York State Fair, which was held in Syracuse in early September.

Five new distinguished student scholarship recipients will be showcased at the annual NCCC Foundation Scholarship Gala Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute.
This award is the most prestigious scholarship offered by the NCCC Foundation to incoming freshman.
