The NFL's finance committee voted Wednesday to approve the sale of the Buffalo Bills to Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and his wife, and Kim.
WGRZ reported the $1.4 billion sale must be approved by a majority of NFL owners. They can vote accordingly when they meet Oct. 8 in New York.

TNT has entered into a licensing agreement with Marvel for the next five theatrical releases from Marvel Studios. The agreement includes the network television premiere windows for "Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron," which is due in theaters next summer, and the third installment in the "Captain America" franchise, which is slated for release in 2016.

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra begins its 2014-15 season Sept. 13 with a new associate conductor, many outstanding guest artists, and collaborations slated with many of the area's leading cultural and educational institutions.
A recording project for Naxos will shed light on the works of the little-known French composer Florent Schmitt, and the orchestra will continue its search for a new pops conductor and concertmaster.

The Lewiston Kiwanis Club presented Artpark's seventh annual Free Family Movie Night Monday. Disney's "Frozen" was presented to hundreds of families at the outdoor amphitheater. "Frozen" movie friends Olaf, Elsa and Anna were on hand to greet the children. The Peach Queen contestants also made a special appearance at the event.

TNT has landed network television rights to the global blockbuster "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" movie franchises in a sweeping deal with Lionsgate. "Sharknado 2: The Second One" premiered Wednesday on the Syfy Channel to great social media fanfare. The film entertained viewers with wild and nonsensical weather that spawns tornadoes that pick up large amounts of ferocious sharks. These sharks not only can survive in the vortex, but they also retain the ability to attack civilians, fueled by revenge and not physics.

The Syfy Network has made a name for itself over the years with fun, campy B-movies. Most of the time, these movies exist in a moment, they're enjoyed by a specific group of fans, and that's the end of it.
That wasn't the case with "Sharknado." Not by a long shot.
