NYS invites small businesses to check eligibility for $250 million COVID-19 Capital Costs Tax Credit program

Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced the opening of the initial intake tool to help small businesses determine their eligibility for the COVID-19 Capital Costs Tax Credit. The $250 million program will support small businesses that made investments to comply with emergency orders and regulations, or to increase public safety, in response to COVID-19. If deemed eligible by the screening tool, a link to the application will be provided when the program application opens.

Her team said this cements New York's place as "a national leader on voting rights, and fulfilling a key part of the governor's 2022 State of the State agenda."

The "NF Murals Project" there is entering its fourth mural-making phase, following completion of 16 murals since 2019. Veterans of Foreign Wars Downriver Post 7487 held its annual Memorial Day celebration and ceremony Monday at the "Circle of Honor" monument in Academy Park in Lewiston. Cmdr. Gordon Spencer served as master of ceremonies. Veteran and New York State Sen. Robert Ortt delivered the keynote address. Boy Scout Troop 824 conducted a flag-folding ceremony, and Santino Hall led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Ortt honors Bruce Sutherland with hall of fame nomination

Earlier this week, New York State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt was able to recognize and honor his nominee for the 2022 New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame, Col. Bruce R. Sutherland. The family of Sutherland, who was honored posthumously, received the award from Ortt's office at the first Col. Bruce R. Sutherland Memorial Golf Tournament held at Niagara Frontier Golf Club - a local favorite of Sutherland's.
