Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday announced the dedication of a major project that removed an underutilized, two-mile stretch of the former Robert Moses Parkway - now called the Niagara Scenic Parkway - in the City of Niagara Falls. His team said this work created a stunning new area in Niagara Falls State Park called "Gorgeview," which provides unimpeded access to the Niagara Gorge and improved recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

The smell of lilacs in the backyard. Muddy knees and properly exhausted from playing outside, only to be rewarded with a freshly baked rhubarb dessert. This was spring at my grandparent's house in Niagara County. While my grandmother is now 97 years old, and she isn't baking like she used to, the younger generation is taking over in the kitchen.

Niagara County will officially open its county parks for the season on Saturday, May 29. The county operates five sites: Burmaster, Krull, Oppenheim, Royalton and West Canal. His camp stated, "The strategic investments will strengthen small business, support private investment in underutilized buildings, and bring new residential units, commercial space, and a hotel to the historic Bridge District. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced that, beginning June 1, Sahlen Field will have a fully vaccinated fan section for the return of the Blue Jays to Buffalo for the remainder of their Major League Baseball season. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday announced New York State Police and another law enforcement agency issued 444 tickets during last week's "Operation Hardhat" an initiative between law enforcement entities, the New York State Department of Transportation and the New York State Thruway Authority, to crack down on work zone violations and highlight the importance of safe driving when encountering construction, maintenance and emergency operations along state highways.

Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced large-scale outdoor event venues will only be limited by the space available for patrons or parties of patrons to maintain the required social distance of 6 feet starting May 19. This will apply to outdoor sports, performing arts and live entertainment, and horse and auto racing venues statewide. Appropriate social distancing, masks and other applicable health protocols will still apply.
