RealtyUSA donates to WNY Heroes

For the fourth year in a row, the Village of Lewiston branch of RealtyUSA raised money for WNY Heroes Inc. As in past years, the community was invited to participate in a monthlong basket auction in May. Thanks to the support of the public, and the initiative of the real estate agents, $1,000 was raised.

The Kingdom Bound Festival, one of the nation's largest and longest-running Christian music festivals, is set to return to Darien Lake Theme and Water Park this summer. The 31st annual festival takes place July 26-29 with more than 40,000 attendees from across the U.S. and Canada expected to attend.

Empire State Development and the City of Buffalo on Tuesday announced the Central Terminal Restoration Corp. (CTRC) will welcome the Urban Land Institute (ULI) advisory panel to conduct a weeklong analysis of potential reuses of the Central Terminal starting Monday, June 26. The comprehensive review of future options for the iconic property at 495 Paderewski St., and related parcels, will be complete by June 30.

Gov. Cuomo takes further action to help those impacted by recent flooding

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday announced $7 million in state funding to assist homeowners who have been impacted by flooding along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. The new investment program will provide up to $40,000 for homeowners to support interior and exterior repairs to structural damage caused by flooding, as well as the repair or replacement of permanent fixtures.

Rain can't stop Lewiston Smelt Festival

As the rain flowed Friday in the Village of Lewiston, crowds of people flooded into the tented area of the Smelt Festival. A light shower couldn't deter visitors from coming up to the waterfront and supporting the Niagara River Anglers Association. Under cover, they were quickly able to catch free (paper) boatloads of the tiny, fried fish, and listen to the sounds of 90 West.
