In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Towne Automotive Group announced it is holding a special sales promotion during the month of June to benefit FeedMore WNY. Towne Automotive Group will donate a portion of the proceeds from every vehicle sold during the promotion to the new nonprofit organization formed when Meals on Wheels for WNY and the Food Bank of WNY joined forces earlier this year.

Local leaders gathered Tuesday to kick-off a new season for the Discover Niagara Shuttle. The free, hop-on/hop-off shuttle service first launched in 2016. Today, it takes passengers to 17 destinations along a 14-mile route, which stretches from Niagara Falls to Old Fort Niagara.

KeyBank is making a $2.5 million donation to Erie County Medical Center Corp.'s (ECMCC) trauma and emergency department capital campaign. This grant is being made by KeyBank in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, and has put the campaign close to its goal of $15 million.

Higgins & local advocates detail bipartisan bill to help individuals with severe medical needs

Congressman Brian Higgins was joined Monday by representatives from People Inc., Western New York Independent Living and the National Coalition for Assistive & Rehab Technology to announce federal legislation to make it easier for individuals with significant disabilities and chronic medical conditions to access specialized wheelchairs and adaptive equipment technology. Reps. Higgins and Jim Sensenbrenner have introduced H.R. 2408, the Ensuring Access to Quality Complex Rehabilitation Technology Act. The bipartisan bill creates a separate benefit category under Medicare to cover complex wheelchair and other adaptive equipment for people with severe medical needs.
