AFL/CIO Niagara Orleans Central Labor Council held its 27th annual Workers Memorial Day observation on Saturday. The event took place at the Workers Memorial Monument in Reservoir Park, located just off Route 31 at the base of the New York Power Authority reservoir. Workers, their friends and families, attended the ceremony, which was emceed by Labor Liaison Bill Jakobi.

The Health Association of Niagara County Inc. recently hosted a book launch celebration at the Wheatfield Community Center, honoring almost 70 Niagara County residents aged 90 and older who took part in the "Faces of Niagara" portrait book. Almost 150 people gathered last Saturday to celebrate the lives of these remarkable individuals.

This Saturday, from 2-4 p.m. at the Wheatfield Community Center, 2790 Church Road, HANCI will celebrate a book launch and release for its "Faces of Niagara." The publication, being released to the community for the first time on Saturday, celebrates the lives of almost 70 Niagara County residents aged 90 and older.
