Olde Sanborn Days is a team effort

Over two days in July, about 2,500 to 3,000 people flock to the grounds of Sanborn Fire Co. on Ward Road (Route 429) to partake of the annual Olde Sanborn Days and all its activities.

Ortt announces $500,000 for Niagara Falls Air Base

State Sen. Rob Ortt today announced $500,000 in state funding to establish an emergency management hub at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Ortt secured the funds in the 2015-16 state budget (Empire State Development Corp., Aid to Localities, S. 2003-C) to help base retention efforts for NFARS.
RealtyUSA raises funds for WNY Heroes

Chris Kreiger walked away from RealtyUSA Wednesday with a big check and an even larger donation. He received $815 from the Lewiston branch, which raised funds during its second annual basket auction. That donation is more than double the amount collected in 2014.

State Sen. Robert Ortt and members of the VFW Lake Ontario Post 313 in Youngstown honored and memorialized all Youngstown veterans who have served overseas with a sign along Route 93/Lockport Road. The sign designates a portion of Route 93 as the "Youngstown Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway."

In late May, Community Missions presented its annual Public Relations Award to Lewiston resident Angelo Sarkees as part of its annual awards brunch. Sarkees was recognized for his "Deposits for Food" program, for which he collects bottles, cans and scrap metal for redemption, then donates the proceeds to area soup kitchens.
