The Outer Harbor GPP outlines future improvements that will be made to the city's Lake Erie waterfront to build on improvements that have been recently completed by EHCDC. The development plan includes recreational facilities to improve what is currently vacant, substandard or underutilized property along a nearly one-and-a-half mile stretch of Lake Erie waterfront.

Meet "Josh Allen," the Wheatfield Pumpkin Farm's 2,000-pound steer. Farmer Jim DeVantier, who has owned and operated the farm for over 30 years, affectionately named him after Josh Allen, quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. The steer is the star of the daytime hayride at the farm, which runs daily from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Recently, Niagara Wheatfield High School celebrated the completion of its new multipurpose athletic field. The project, which was estimated to cost $7.6 million, included an all-new synthetic turf field and is able to accommodate football, baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer and field hockey. The project also included new bleachers (able to seat 2,000 home and 500 away fans), scoreboards, lights, fencing and backstops.

The Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo, one of the largest pure-fishing shows in the Great Lakes, is postponing its popular event at the Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls due to COVID-19. Conference Center officials are following New York state guidelines, as well as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, regarding what protocols need to be followed in an effort to keep attendees, vendors and Conference Center staff safe.

Old Fort Niagara beckons patrons back to the 18th century when soldiers in colorful uniforms walked the fort's walls and fur traders glided past the fort in birch-bark canoes. On Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend, Oct. 10-11, the fort's staff and volunteers will present a variety of living history activities for visitors to enjoy from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
