The Village of Lewiston unveiled its proposed 2016-17 budget at a public hearing and board meeting Monday. As published last week, the property tax rate ($7.38 per $1,000 of assessed valuation), water rate ($3.54 per 100 cubic feet) and sewer rate ($4.64 per 100 cubic feet) will remain the same.

Artpark & Company was awarded $100,000 by the Host Communities Standing Committee at a re-vote Friday afternoon. The Town of Lewiston sponsored the funding request. Money will help offset costs associated with Artpark & Company's interactive children's and family festivals and programming.

When it got closer, we could see it was all equipped with some extravagant fishing equipment, and three young men, whom we called the "Three Musketeers."

The Host Communities Standing Committee could not reach consensus Wednesday on the Town of Lewiston's request for $165,000 to help fund Artpark & Company's interactive children and family festivals and programming. The New York Power Authority cast the lone "No" vote, thus making the required unanimous approval impossible.
