Artpark & Company and Modern Disposal Services will present "Power of Niagara," "A celebration of arts, nature and a sustainable future" on Aug. 21. The evening will be a celebration of the environment, including a performance of "Branché" by Cirque Barcode & Acting for Climate Montréal; the world premiere of "The Power of Niagara" by Jon Lehrer Dance Company; performances by Buffalo String Works; and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by JoAnn Falletta.

After 22 months apart, Artpark and a few thousand of its closest friends reunited this week for the first "Tuesdays in the Park" of 2021 - the first Tuesday concert since 2019 - heck, the first Tuesday gig since the pandemic shut the world down, shuttered concert venues and grounded tours. There were hugs, warm greetings and cold beverages, at the "reunion show" in Lewiston.

This summer, Artpark & Company will help to rebuild the workforce of Western New York by hiring artists and other cultural sector professionals with the launch of a new $200,000 program, "Artpark Works." This is thanks to a $100,000 grant from The John R. Oishei Foundation and KeyBank, in collaboration with First Niagara Foundation, aided by previously contributed $100,000 from M&T Bank and Cullen Foundation in general operating support.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced that, beginning April 2, event, arts and entertainment venues can reopen at 33% capacity, up to 100 people indoors and up to 200 people outdoors. If all attendees present proof of negative test prior to entry, capacity can increase up to 150 people indoors and up to 500 people outdoors.
