Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, step right up for the World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater at Artpark. Award-winning Russian circus entertainer Gregory Popovich and his entourage of furry four-legged performers take over Artpark's Mainstage Theater on May 17, 2011. Two hilarious performances will be presented at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. with tickets at just $6 ($5 before Feb. 1).

Artpark is immediately placing a national call for entries for its second outdoor sculpture competition, entitled "Edges II." Up to seven works will be selected for a summer-long exhibition (May 30-Sept. 17, 2011) on the grounds of Artpark in Lewiston.

The Trews are headlining the finale of Artpark's new "Coors Light Wednesdays" concert series on Aug. 25. A Canadian rock band from Nova Scotia, The Trews, pictured, have been nominated for four Juno Awards. Brothers Colin and John McDonald formed a rock band in 1995 and slowly the other band members joined forces to form The Trews.

Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, two giants of rock 'n' roll, are finally back together after being apart for more than 20 years. On Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. in Artpark's Mainstage Theater, the full-throttle rock machine will converge as Bachman & Turner present their "Forged in Rock Tour," which began in June.

Artpark took home the "Most Exciting Outdoor Concert Series" award at Buffalo Spree Magazine's annual "Best of WNY" Award Party held at Shea's Performing Arts Center on Thursday, June 24. Artpark celebrates its fifth consecutive "Best of WNY" Award.

In what has become an annual highlight of summer in Lewiston - America returns to Artpark for the June 29 "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" free concert with the folk-rock band's 40th Anniversary Tour. The concert kicks off with the Niagara Falls Air Base special opening ceremony that will include a fly over of the Base's C-130 aircraft at 6:15 p.m.

Week two of the "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" free outdoor concert series at Artpark's outdoor amphitheater will present the best of blues on June 22 with Jimmie Vaughan & The Tilt-A-Whirl Band. The mini blues fest starts at 6:30 p.m. with Buffalo's own Blues Remedy opening the night.

Artpark's week-long children's camps will feature three sessions of Art Camp and one special week of Theater Camp in association with Artpark's 2010 Broadway Musical, and introduces a week of Rock Camp for aspiring rock stars.

Recently, the Village of Lewiston, Artpark & Co., and New York's Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation have discussed the possibility of opening a new exit leading from the performing arts venue to the Robert Moses Parkway south (Niagara Falls). In this scenario, patrons exiting Artpark via Portage Road could turn right on Seneca Street (shown left) and onto the RMP. This new connection, only available during the "Tuesday in the Park" concert series, would be the only way for motorists to access the parkway. Center Street to the RMP would be closed.
