Goo Goo Dolls' 'Rebel Beat' video premieres; new album 'Magnetic' out June 11

Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Goo Goo Dolls premiered the video for their new song "Rebel Beat" Tuesday on VH1.com. The P.R. Brown-directed video will premiere on the VH1 Top 20 Countdown April 13.

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced Wednesday that the Sabres have acquired forward Johan Larsson, goaltender Matt Hackett, a first-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and a second-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Jason Pominville, the Sabres captain, and a fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The 'Polish Prince' returns to Niagara Falls

A fan favorite at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Bobby Vinton - is now booked to perform a Memorial Day weekend show. Known by many as "The Polish Prince," Vinton will come to the Seneca Niagara Events Center in Niagara Falls for an 8 p.m. show on Saturday, May 25. This is his third appearance in consecutive years at the 2,400-seat entertainment venue.

World-renowned soprano and opera star Kathleen Battle will appear with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Kleinhans Music Hall in a special program, "The Underground Railroad: An Evening of Spirituals."

The program commemorates a number of important moments in history: the founding of the Abolitionist movement in 1833, the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the 100th anniversary of the passing of famed civil rights pioneer Harriet Tubman, and the importance of Western New York to the Underground Railroad.

'The Lamb Lies Down' on Webster Street

Last Friday, the Musical Box came to the Riviera Theatre in Tonawanda. The Montreal-born Genesis tribute band played a theatrical recreation of the seminal album "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway."

A monster in terms of prog-rock and concept albums, "The Lamb" describes a troubled, half Puerto Rican youth's surrealistic struggle to understand the world around him as well as his own duality. Genesis' last work with lead singer Peter Gabriel, the tour following the 1974 album was full of costume changes, theatrics, a three-screen slide show, pyrotechnics, lights and, of course, plenty of musical talent.
