The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present "Glen Campbell: The Goodbye Tour" on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

Almost two years of planning, speeches, outreach and training meetings will culminate this weekend when thousands of people attend the Franklin Graham conference at Coca-Cola Field in downtown Buffalo.

The classic thriller "The Spiral Staircase" by F. Andrew Leslie will be presented at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. The show is on stage Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.; October 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 at 8 p.m.; and on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.

One of Canada's most time-honored rock bands, The Tragically Hip, makes a return visit to Seneca Allegany Events Center in Salamanca as part of a just-announced tour in support of its soon-to-be-released 13th studio album, "Now for Plan A." Tickets for the 2,400-seat capacity show start at $55 and go on sale Friday, Sept. 21, at noon through Ticketmaster and all Seneca Casino box offices.

From Oct. 18 to 22, Niagara University Theatre will proudly launch its new season with "The Rimers of Eldritch." Directed by Steven Braddock, director of Niagara University Theatre, this drama was an Off-Broadway success for its playwright, the late Lanford Wilson, one of the most distinguished American playwrights of the 20th century.

Band pairs with reggae legend Willi Williams and special guests Bright Light Social Hour on Friday, Nov. 16.

The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present "Back to Buffalo 4 - UB Alumni Dance Concert" on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Drama Theatre located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The performance is sponsored in part by the UB Alumni Association.

Legendary Irish band Clannad will embark on their first North American tour in 18 years with a series of dates this fall. That includes a 7:30 p.m. stop at the Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo North Campus, on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel will present three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Jon Secada as the headline entertainment at the 2013 Premier.

The Premier, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's annual black-tie dinner and entertainment gala, will be held Jan. 19. Proceeds from the event will benefit Memorial's cardiac and stroke care services.

Megadeth's Dave Mustaine has personally overseen a new 20th anniversary edition of the band's most popular album, 1992's double platinum-certified "Countdown to Extinction," to be released Nov. 6 by Capitol/EMI. After wrapping up their "TH1RT3EN World Tour" this fall, Megadeth will perform the acclaimed album in its entirety on their "Countdown to Extinction 20th Anniversary Tour" this November and December.

The 12th annual Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival and Highland Games will take place in Olcott on Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, at Krull Park in historic Olcott Beach.

Recently, Krull Park was honored with a second-place finish in Coca-Cola's "America's Favorite Park Contest," and took home a $50,000 prize after receiving more than 21 million votes. The Niagara Celtic Heritage Festival has been held at Krull Park each year since 2002.

This year, the festival grounds have been split into eight regions so that festivalgoers have an easier time finding the events and attractions they want to attend.

On a cool autumn morning, a couple hundred students from five Western New York high schools took in an unusual theatrical performance in Niagara University's Gallagher Center. Judging by their reactions, it was clear that the attendees were emotionally engaged by the one-hour play.

This week's "Fridays on Old Falls" concert series finale is being extended to feature two Western New York bands, Studio 54 and Lakeside Blues Band, on Friday, Aug. 31, on Old Falls Street, USA's, middle block. Each will present full-length three-hour shows throughout the evening, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m.

Niagara University Theatre has announced its 2012-13 season.

Steven Braddock, director of Niagara University Theatre said, "This season, you will find two Tony Award-winning musicals, three laugh-out-loud comedies by Neil Simon, Steve Martin (yes - that banjo strumming comedian) and Moliere, and a dark and lyrical mystery. In addition, our annual student-directed short play festival will offer comedies, dramas and everything in between. Also, our theater student group, the NU Players, will test their wings by entirely producing a contemporary adult drama about the searing effect of war on relationships."

This year's Lewiston Jazz Festival will take place on Friday, Aug. 24, from 5 to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 25, from noon to 10 p.m. on Center Street. Admission, parking, and shuttles to the festival from Artpark's lower level parking lot are all free.
