Carnegie Art Center to host 'The Big Sip' tasting fundraiser

The Carnegie Art Center (CAC) will host "The Big Sip" event from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. Tickets include craft beverage and wine tastings from Resurgence Brewing, Blackbird Cider, Tree Hugger Hard Cider, Noble Root Wines, and several other beer and wine vendors.

On Tuesday, the Buffalo City Mission and Lloyd Taco Truck hosted the 10th annual "Christmas in July Luncheon" at the Alfiero Family Center of Hope and Promise. The event provided nearly 200 meals, which were given to the men's ministry at the Alfiero Family Center of Hope and Promise and the women's ministry located at Buffalo City Mission's Cornerstone Manor. All meals were donated in full by Lloyd Taco Truck.

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball announced applications are open to New York organizations for the FreshConnect CSA for SNAP program. This program will help to give Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants in New York increased access to weekly shares of fresh, locally grown produce through community-supported agriculture (CSA) initiatives by defraying up to half the cost, while also lending additional support to New York's farmers and producers.
