Ransomville Speedway will welcome back The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints for the first time in over 10 years when the winged sprint cars take to the "Big R" on Aug. 14, 2020, in a special doubleheader with the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds.

On Friday, Nov. 22, golf professionals from the Western New York PGA will team up to raise money for the local Special Olympics New York golf program. They will participate in a traditional six-on-six hockey match.

For the last two years, the Niagara-Wheatfield Lady Falcons volleyball team had appeared in the Section VI Class A finals. Vying for a third straight visit Tuesday night, the team fell short on the court versus the Hamburg Bulldogs, 3-1.

After losing to the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons early in the season, 5-0, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers boys soccer team chances of winning the Niagara Frontier League finals Wednesday night may have seemed slim to some.
The Lancers were quick to prove the doubters wrong, though, as Lewiston-Porter defeated the Falcons, 1-0, to clinch the program's first NFL title since 2010.

Ransomville Speedway closes out its 2019 season this Friday and Saturday with the annual "King of the Hill" weekend presented by Investor's Service on Sept. 13-14. This event will bring race teams from across New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Ontario to the "Big R" for two days of racing, including the first visits to Ransomville by two different racing series.

Mat Williamson won his third Krown Undercoating Modified feature of the season and Erick Rudolph of Ransomville won his second consecutive divisional title as Hy-Tech Concrete, WNY Heroes, National Maintenance Contracting Corporation, Lawns Unlimited, and Try-It Distributing (Busch Beer) presented Season Championship Night for Modifieds, Sportsman and Novice Sportsman at the Ransomville Speedway on Friday night.

An overlooked position in baseball sometimes is that of the catcher. Every game, the catcher is seeing a new style of pitcher, calling pitches from start to finish, helping guide the defense, throw base stealers out - oh, and they get to hit, too.
As the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons baseball team comes into a 2019 season with high expectations, it is fortunate enough to have a backstop who has done all of that for quite some time: Ethan Guthrie.

On Dec. 21, the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons boys basketball team sat with a record of 2-5. Since then, the Falcons proceeded to go 9-4 and finish with an 11-9 record - the program's best, according to coach Erik O'Bryan, in around 14 years.
