Beaver Island State Park will be offering a safe boating course from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, in the lower level of the Beaver Island Clubhouse. This course is for ages 10 and up and is recommended for recreational boaters and paddlers. This class is required for personal watercraft operators.

Fishing piers now open

The fishing pier at the base of the New York Power Authority's Robert Moses Niagara Hydroelectric Power Plant in Lewiston opened April 8 for the season. The fish cleaning station will also be available as long as temperatures remain above freezing.
