Tuesday night, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers faced the Niagara Falls Wolverines on the hardwood without their star sophomore Roddy Gayle. Gayle was on the bench for the Lancers' battle, as he nursed an injury. And while most people counted L-P out in his absence, the Lancers gave the Wolverines everything they had. Despite the efforts, the Wolverines prevailed, 71-67, behind big nights from Taylor Sanders and Bryce Smith.

Despite a physical and highly contested battle, the Lancers fell versus New York's No. 4 team in Class C, 72-69.

Traveling on the road to play a basketball game in a hostile environment is no easy task. The Lewiston-Porter Lancers felt the affects of playing in Niagara-Wheatfield's gym Tuesday night, but as good teams do, the Lancers were able to overcome an early stumble. Lew-Port defeated the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons, 80-51, Tuesday, in a game that was close for the first 16 to 17 minutes.

The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team will once again provide fans a chance to do some holiday shopping while supporting the Buffalo Sabres Foundation with the return of the annual autographed ornament surprise this Tuesday, Dec. 10, before and during the team's game against the St. Louis Blues at 7:30 p.m.
Lancers hoops fall in season opener

The Lewiston-Porter Lancers boys basketball team has their sights set high for the 2019-20 season. The saying is, "To be the best, you have to beat the best." But, Wednesday night, in front of a stellar audience at the Creek Road campus, the Lancers fell against one of Western New York's best. Lew-Port was defeated in its season opener, 68-49, versus the defending Catholic School state and federation champions The Park School Pioneers.
NCCC receives $400,000 from Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation for volleyball program

The NCCC Foundation is the recipient of a $400,000 grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. This three-year grant supports a youth sport/leadership program between Niagara County Community College and the Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda School Districts.

After losing to the Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons early in the season, 5-0, the Lewiston-Porter Lancers boys soccer team chances of winning the Niagara Frontier League finals Wednesday night may have seemed slim to some. The Lancers were quick to prove the doubters wrong, though, as Lewiston-Porter defeated the Falcons, 1-0, to clinch the program's first NFL title since 2010.
'King of the Hill' weekend to wrap up 2019 season at Ransomville Speedway
