Harborcenter announces 2019-20 tournament schedule

The 2019-20 Harborcenter Hockey Tournament Schedule has been announced. The upcoming season's schedule will feature 25 individual tournaments, serving both boys and girls from ages 6 to 18.

It's been 41 years since the Lewiston-Porter Lancers boys basketball team has won a Section VI championship. Saturday night, the Lancers could party like it's 1978, as the team defeated Amherst, 51-40, in the Section VI Class A2 title game.

Last Friday, Feb. 15, multiple law enforcement and emergency services agencies conducted an active shooter exercise on the Lewiston-Porter campus. There has been a lot of press on the event in local media, for which we are thankful, as it is important for the public to both understand the amount of the preparation and to feel secure. Thank you to all first-responders and emergency management agencies who participated and who give their all every single day to keeping our community safe.

The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program to support Western New York-area high school seniors aspiring to careers in the foodservice and hospitality industries. The Niagara Military Affairs Council has established a scholarship named in honor of Merrell Lane, long-time chairman and co-founder of NIMAC. The annual scholarship will be awarded to enlisted members assigned to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station who are in pursuit of an aviation-related career.
