"American Idol" is back with a live coast-to-coast episode, as the top seven contestants perform two songs each on Sunday, May 9 (8-10 p.m. EDT), on ABC. Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday announced the reopening of the Historic Palace Theatre on Saturday, May 1, following a $3.5 million renovation that received $600,000 through Lockport's Downtown Revitalization Initiative award. Work on the nearly century-old structure included installing new seating, floors and a larger orchestra pit, as well as other interior improvements aimed at ensuring the future vibrancy of this community cornerstone.

The Walt Disney Company will kick off its presentation of the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 29 (8 p.m. EDT), on ESPN, ABC, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Radio and the ESPN app. Coverage will include 1,500 creative elements, 450 player highlight packages and 35 player vignettes. ESPN and ABC will document the three-day event with 50 cameras and more than 50 microphones following live action in Cleveland, more than 40 additional cameras at the homes of draft prospects and another 32 cameras offering looks into each NFL Draft room.

Barring a monumental miracle by June 1, the Toronto Blue Jays will again call downtown Buffalo's Sahlen Field home. The Canadian government has yet to grant them approval to return to the Rogers Centre. With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Canada, and Ontario recently entering another lockdown, it is unlikely the Jays will return to the field they last called home in 2019 anytime soon.

Singer/Songwriter Ellie Holcomb is set to release her third studio LP, "Canyon," on June 25 in partnership with Capitol Christian Music Group. This will mark the first label distributed release for the independent artist.
