New York to receive initial delivery of COVID-19 vaccine doses for 170,000

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced New York state will receive an initial delivery of enough COVID-19 vaccine doses for 170,000 residents. If all safety and efficacy approvals are granted by the federal government, the state expects to receive the vaccines - which were created by Pfizer - on Dec. 15. New York expects additional allocations of vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna later this month.
Grand Island: New life for land once considered for Amazon warehouse

The Island Dispatch has learned Michael Huntress, vice president of Acquest Development LLC of Amherst, submitted a site plan to the Town of Grand Island for a proposed 1,080,308-square-foot distribution facility project on Long Road. The structure would sit on land its own, along the New York State Thruway I-190 - an area that was under consideration by Amazon for a proposed 3.8 million-square-foot distribution center.
Erie County Department of Health outlines testing process for schools in micro-cluster zones

Last Friday, officials from Niagara County and the Town of Wheatfield were on hand at the Wheatfield Senior Center to hand out over 100 Thanksgiving dinners to local seniors. The event was part of Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch's "Meals With Heart From Six Feet Apart" program that he created in March to offer affordable meals to seniors in the community amid the ongoing pandemic.

The New York State Department of State announced a new online application for the address confidentiality program (ACP) in which victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual offenses and human trafficking can protect themselves from their perpetrators by getting a new undisclosed address.
