Field & Fork Network has announced its management of the Niagara Falls City Market, what it called "a dynamic community hub for locals and visitors." The market will officially open June 1 at 19th Street and Pine Avenue in downtown Niagara Falls.

New York Attorney General Letitia James today secured agreements from the nation's largest insulin manufacturers, Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly), and Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC (Sanofi), to cap the price of insulin at $35 per monthly prescription for uninsured New Yorkers for five years.

Jericho Road Vive Shelter announced it was awarded $400,000 by the John R. Oishei Foundation. The Oishei Foundation grant to "A Path to Hope: The Campaign For Jericho Road Vive Shelter" will support Jericho Road in its effort to raise $6 million for the new Main Street location.

Women United of Greater Niagara's baby supply drive has been extended. Donations of baby bottles, bottle brushes, wipes, diapers, pacifiers, lotion, baby cereal, baby food, formula (Enfamil) and new baby clothes can be dropped off at the United Way of Greater Niagara office, located at 6420 Inducon Drive West, Suite B2, until May 12.

Members of Niagara University's men's hockey team spent a recent morning loading and unloading a truck filled with furniture that will be used to set up new homes for refugees resettling in Western New York through Jewish Family Services. The team connected with JFS through an ongoing initiative of Niagara University's Justice House program.

Canisius College has successfully petitioned the New York State Education Department Board of Regents for university designation. The transition will take place during summer 2023 alongside the rollout of the first strategic plan for the university. In August, ahead of the start of the fall semester, Canisius will unveil a refreshed branding initiative to introduce the school's new identity.

Thanks to the support of the Western New York community, nearly 100 bowlers and a small but mighty team of volunteers, Team RPCS - Roswell Park Cessation Services - raised more than $6,000 on Sunday, April 23, during the third annual Russell J. Salvatore Bowling Open at Tonawanda Bowling Center. All proceeds will support the 2023 Ride for Roswell, scheduled to take place Saturday, June 24.

Law enforcement across the region was made aware of an animal activist meeting taking place on Saturday, April 15. The meeting was advertised on social media as a forum to encourage animal rescue. It further offers instruction on stages of animal rescue, researching of facilities and winning at trial. This group is actively recruiting individuals for this purpose.

Jill O'Malley, a Town of Tonawanda Board member, and founder of the Ken-Ton Closet, which provides free clothing to families in need, recalls the wonderful memories of her high school prom.
