Francis Center, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis at Stella Niagara, will hold a mega meat raffle at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13. Doors open at 5 p.m. at Town of Niagara Active Hose, 6010 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls. Tickets are $15 per person, or $100 for a table of eight.

On Friday, electronics recycler Sunnking presented a $9,875.01 check to Camp Good Days and Special Times, a nonprofit organization helping children and families with cancer. The funds were raised as a part of Sunnking's 13th annual "e-Scrap for Camp" fundraiser. The company saw 323 area businesses participate in the electronics recycling donation drive between Buffalo and Rochester.

United Way of Buffalo & Erie County launched its 2023 giving campaign, "Find Your Way," with a press conference featuring United Way's President and CEO Trina Burruss, Board Chair the Rev. Rachelle Sat'chell Robinson, and United Way Chief Development Officer Rema Hanash. Together, they announced the 2023 annual campaign goal: $10 million.

Catholic Health announced Mark Sullivan has decided to step down as president and CEO on Aug. 31 after a 30-year career with the health system. Monsignor Robert E. Zapfel, chair of Catholic Health's Corporate Members and Sponsors Council, also announced the appointment of Joyce Markiewicz, the system's executive vice president and chief business development officer, to succeed Sullivan as president and CEO.

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours President John Kinney has proposed a docking system for the waterfront area parallel to his operation's staging area. He said the seawall there, as is, is not practically usable for transient boaters - or even for WJBT. Kinney would like to reconfigure the area to better accommodate his patrons. He has offered to donate his existing adjacent docking area to the municipality for the betterment of transient boaters.
