The Erie County Department of Environment and Planning, in conjunction with the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant and Advanced Technology Recycling, has announced a collection and recycling event for various types of electronic waste. The event will take place on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant, 2995 River Road, Town of Tonawanda.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday declared a state of emergency across all 62 counties in New York ahead of the extreme winter storm that's brought heavy snowfall and high winds.
