The Erie County Fair, in partnership with Milk for Health, will honor WNY's Dairy Farmer of the Year during "Dairy Day" at the Erie County Fair this August. The newly established event will be Thursday, Aug. 11, and will feature a variety of activities to showcase dairy farming and products.

It's crazy to me that I'm going in to start this treatment and surgeries. I feel like I could run a marathon."

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, in June 2020, Bonnie Nevans and Crystal Still came up with an idea to help the community feel a sense of togetherness. That idea was a mural created by anyone interested in participating. Each volunteer was given a packet of materials, with directions on how to create a small portion of the mural. The individual pieces looked very abstract, and neither Nevans nor Still told any of the participants what the entire piece would look like.

$46 million investment for thruway pavement improvement projects in Western New York

Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced a $46 million investment for two pavement improvement projects on the New York State Thruway (I-90) in Erie and Genesee counties. The two projects include resurfacing of more than 100 lane miles between Exit 47 (Rochester - LeRoy - I-490 - NY Route 19) to beyond Exit 48A (Pembroke - Medina - NY Route 77).

Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Corp. announced its Synergy Bariatrics/Center for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery has recently been accredited for a third consecutive three-year period as a comprehensive center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) - a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). This accreditation extends from March 27 through March 27, 2025.
Town Board approves site plan and special use permit for proposed solar project
