They were a young couple in the early 1970s, and Dori had suggested the trip, explaining that it would be a good time to do it " 'Because we're free; because we've got no careers. The $1.6 million project is being funded through a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

Ecotour highlights diversity of species in Niagara River Corridor

A wind blew across the water at Beaver Island State Park at 7 a.m., July 30. I stepped into a kayak for the first ecotour of the 2022 Paddles Up event at the park's beach and was pushed off. The water was slightly choppy as the group of kayakers, led by retired government biologist Paul Leuchner, started to travel in the river, heading around the island.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced federal funding totaling $1,640,522 for Erie County Medical Center. Funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the award reimburses the medical center for personal protective equipment and supplies needed to treat and prevent the spread of coronavirus, as well as contract services used to support hospital functions during the pandemic.
