Ryan highlights electric vehicle infrastructure investments for Western New York

On Tuesday, New York State Sen. Sean Ryan announced the Town of Amherst and the Town of Grand Island are among eight municipalities in Western New York - and 70 statewide - receiving state grants to improve their public electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Almost 17 years ago, Re-Tree volunteers set out to remedy massive storm-damaged areas of Western New York after the surprise storm on Oct. 12, 2006. It took the program until 2019 to complete the recovery - its 30,000th tree was planted at Canalside that year.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced a jury has found 37-year-old William T. Bergeron of Cheektowaga guilty of the highest count in the indictment against him. Jurors rendered their decision this afternoon after less than an hour of deliberation following a four-day trial that began last week. Bergeron was found guilty of the following offenses:

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the completion of La Plaza de Virginia, a $17 million mixed-use housing development that provides 46 affordable and supportive homes for seniors in Buffalo. The newly constructed development on the city's west side also features a restaurant and a community service facility that will house a recreational adult day program open to the public.
