Julia Nowak, an artist from Amherst, said she loves transforming old compact discs, DVDs and vinyl records into clocks of various sizes, each with a different abstract pattern. She creates her clocks with a technique called fluid art. Fluid art is an abstract painting technique that involves the use of fluid art mediums, such as acrylic paints.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a public hearing on the Kensington Expressway project will take place Wednesday, Sept. 27, in Buffalo. The public hearing, to be hosted jointly by the New York State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, will provide residents and interested parties with an opportunity to publicly express their views concerning the environmental, economic and social effects of the current design plans associated with the project.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced $20 million in water infrastructure upgrades for communities in Erie County. Her team said, "With this funding, the Erie County Water Authority can complete a long-awaited, $80 million overhaul that includes upgrading water filters that treat 60 million gallons of water from Lake Erie each day, and haven't had substantial upgrades for 70 years."

This includes $250 million in funding already sent to New York City, "progress resulting from continued advocacy with the federal government, and additional National Guard deployments."

This summer has been nothing short of ideal and, after the winter we had, we absolutely deserved every beautiful day.
