The Mental Health Association in Niagara County will host a meat raffle fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the St. Johnsburg Firehall, 7165 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Proceeds from the sales will go toward programming and services for those living with a mental health diagnosis in Niagara County.

Higgins & Laurrie announce nearly $3.5 million in mental health funding for Niagara Falls City School District

Congressman Brian Higgins joined Niagara Falls City School District Superintendent Mark Laurrie on Friday to announce a five-year grant totaling close to $3.5 million. Awarded by the U.S. Department of Education and funded by the School-Based Mental Health Services program, the grant will be used to support school and community mental health programs while creating opportunities for local graduate students.

The Niagara Falls Police Department is searching for 15-year-old Lorelai R. Russell, who was reported missing on Tuesday. Lorelai was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with anime characters, and sweatpants. She is 5 feet, 2 inches tall; approximately 80 pounds; and possibly traveling out of state and considered vulnerable.

Higgins: $450,000 for NFTA regional safety action plan

NCCC nursing licensures exceed state and national rates

Niagara County Community College nursing programs announced today that their students' National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) scores are well above the state and national averages. The 2022 registered nursing program NCLEX scores are 92.5%, and the licensed practical nursing program scores are 100% for the third year in a row.

The session pertains to a proposed intersection improvement project scheduled to begin in spring 2024 on state Route 104 (Ridge Road), at state Route 93 (Townline Road) - commonly referred to as Warrens Corners - in the towns of Lockport and Cambria.
