NT department working with DiBernardo to assist people in getting vaccinations

The North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation, Parks & Seniors, in collaboration with Second Ward Alderman Frank DiBernardo, recently announced a COVID-19 vaccine assistance program (CVAP) for North Tonawanda senior citizens who are seeking help with navigating the process of registering to receive a vaccination.
DEC announces agreement with state & local partners to redevelop former industrial sites in Niagara, Orleans counties

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on Tuesday announced a new cooperative agreement with the state comptroller's office; Niagara County; Orleans County; the cities of Lockport, Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda; and the Niagara Orleans Regional Land Improvement Corp. (NORLIC) to promote the redevelopment of dozens of potentially contaminated properties in Niagara and Orleans counties.

Niagara County Central Rotary Dictionary Project continues, despite COVID-19

The Rotary Club of Niagara County Central annually donates dictionaries to third grade students in the Niagara Wheatfield Central School District. Rotarian, the late Joseph B. North Tonawanda to seek $4.2 million loan as holdover until tax dollars roll in

The City of North Tonawanda is looking to move forward with a tax anticipation note (TAN) - a short-term bond issued by a municipal government that will be repaid with future tax collections. The reason given is that the city is in the midst of a revenue shortfall and needs stop-gap funding until it begins to receive tax revenue in April.

The drug outsourcing company - which moved to the 25,000-square-foot building at 355 Riverwalk Parkway in the Riverview Solar Technology Park in May of 2018 - will be tripling the size of the facility.
NCCC nursing students excel in licensing exams

To become licensed as a registered nurse or practical nurse, students who graduate from a state-approved registered nursing or practical nursing program must pass the National Council License Examination (NCLEX). Both of the Niagara County Community College (NCCC) RN and PN programs have routinely received rates above the state and national averages for success in passing these exams. In 2020, NCCC nursing grads achieved a 94.05% pass rate for the NCLEX-RN and a 100% pass rate was achieved for the NCLEX-PN.
